Community Data Analyst

We’re looking for a Community Data Analyst who will be responsible for the regular collection and accurate analysis of a variety of housing-related data sets and help Live Baltimore grow our data program. As Live Baltimore’s lead researcher, the Community Data Analyst informs data-driven decision-making and collaborates with program staff to optimize organizational performance. Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Community Data Analyst also serves as a primary point of contact for community groups and partner organizations that seek data in their areas of focus, and works within the guidelines, policies and mission of Live Baltimore to be accountable and responsible for projects as assigned.

Key Priorities & Responsibilities:
Data Research & Analysis:
- Generates a monthly report of Baltimore City’s home sales by neighborhood statistical area.
- Provides home sales analysis to assist Executive Director in writing monthly partner emails and quarterly data summaries.
- Builds and maintains a GIS dashboard of Baltimore City home sales.
- Creates GIS maps and presentations as needed.
- Executes and analyzes the results of an annual, citywide new homebuyer survey.
- Brainstorms and pitches new ways to expand Live Baltimore’s data program.
- Stays up to date on and provides analysis of U.S. Census trends.
- Accesses commercially available data sets to compile statistics.
- Contributes to curriculum for real estate and consumer audiences.
- Contributes to Live Baltimore’s annual economic impact report.
Collaboration & Community Engagement:
- Regularly presents home sales and other data points to community groups, lawmakers, and partner organizations in coordination with Executive team.
- Provides data reports to Community Development Corporations and other community development partners and groups, as requested.
- Maintains external relationships necessary for successful data sharing.
- Conducts real estate data trainings for communities and nonprofit partners.
- Engages with government and community partners on ongoing projects.
Project Management:
- In collaboration with program staff, oversees tracking of key performance measures.
- Advises leadership on the purchase of commercial data sets and the hiring of data consultants.
- Coordinates work of external data consultants, as needed with assistance of Executive Team.
- Oversee major research projects, such as homebuyer surveys, market studies, etc.
- Assists with issuing RFPs for data partners and helps make selections as needed.
Events:
- Staffing of regular Live Baltimore events.
- Assists in planning event programming and content.
Is this You?:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Business, or related field, or in lieu of Bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work
- 3-5 years of experience with data analysis, GIS, performance management, or similar
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGISOnline, Power BI and Microsoft Excel, and Zoom or other online meeting platforms
- Experience with spreadsheets, forms, databases, data visualization, and data cleaning, coding, and validation
- Desire to learn and understand the residential real estate industry
- Knowledge of statistical tools and business reporting
- Self-reliance, including the ability to work toward goals independently, as well as work well in a team
- Outstanding time management and organization skills
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills, a customer service mindset, and the ability to clearly convey technical information to non-technical audiences
- Comfort presenting data to partnering organizations and community groups
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Bilingual, fluent in Spanish and English, strongly preferred
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends (to attend community meetings and events; three Saturdays per year are mandatory)
- Access to reliable transportation (to attend community meetings and events)

- RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT: You must reside in Baltimore City at time of application and throughout employment!
- NOTE: You may not possess any form of active real estate license at time of application and throughout employment!
Total Compensation Package:
- Annual starting salary, commensurate with experience: $65,000-$70,000; Bilingual Spanish/English - $68,250-$73,500
