The BWI Business Partnership is a nonprofit corporation comprised of governmental organizations, private businesses, and academic institutions, advocating for strong transportation policy and initiatives, driving sustainable economic and workforce development, and facilitating meaningful strategic relationships germane to the growth and development of the BWI Region.
The Job in a Nutshell:
The BWI Business Partnership is looking for a full-time Community Grants Manager. The Community Grants Manager is responsible for working on the current and future grant management life cycle. Our successful candidate will work on multiple projects and represent the Partnership within the socio-civic and business community as it relates to our current and future grants. This position currently manages transportation-related and beautification programs that are funded by grant awards. As Community Grants Manager, you will also look for grant opportunities that support our mission and you will support the President with grant-related research on behalf of Partnership interests. NOTE: This is primarily an on-site position and will require local travel for meetings, conferences, and other grant management requirements.

Grant/Budget Development and Management
- Prepares Requests for Proposals (RFP) and vendor contracts for service providers
- Conducts site visits, reviews service documentation and invoices, ensuring faithful adherence to grant requirements and implementation of corrective action.
- Develops new systems and improves processes to ensure high-quality delivery of program services.
- Organizes events and prepares marketing materials to promote and highlight program mission and successes.
- Prepares and presents monthly/quarterly grant reports and quarterly audio-visual presentations to the Board of Directors, Trustees, grant funders, and other stakeholders.
- Grant Application and Research
- Leads planning and implementation of community grant programs, including grant applications, research and writing, program design and execution, and post-award grant reporting.
- Manages and monitors all program expenditures and prepares financial reports. Maintains up-to-date records on grant awards and disbursements.
- Prepares close-out reports and accounts for receivables at end of grant period.
- Prepares transportation plans and proposals for member-organizations.
- Prepares a weekly Transportation Thursdays map: an interactive map highlighting transportation related news and articles.
- Represents the organization during public events, council meetings, and commission hearings.
- Performs outreach with private businesses, community groups, government entities, and other not-for-profit organizations.
- Acts as custodian of Foundation files and records.
- Ensures that all Foundation grant activities (disbursement and coordination with Trustees) are in accordance with Foundation By-Laws and grant requirements.
- Coordinates meetings, prepares materials and produces meeting minutes for Board of Trustees.
- Create posts for Foundation social media outlets and updates Foundation page on website as required.
- Acts as custodian of Partnership Board of Director files and records.
- Prepares all Foundation grant reports for quarterly Board of Directors meetings.
- Coordinates meetings, prepares materials and produces minutes for Board of Directors meetings.
- Attends and assists with events preparation and registration table at various Partnership Member Events, as required.
- Assists with Partnership marketing and social media posts, as required.
Is This You?
We are looking for Community Grant Manager candidates with strong grant writing skills, a demonstrated track record of securing funding through grant writing including the ability to research funding opportunities, craft compelling grant proposals, and effectively communicate the significance and impact of our programs to potential funders. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and social media channels (ie: LinkedIn, Twitter/X, FB, Instagram), and the self-motivation to work productively. Knowledge of Word Press and CANVA is a plus. Transportation management experience is preferred but not required. You must have a valid driver's license and be able to attend local professional meetings on behalf of the BWI Business Partnership.

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $60,000-$64,000, commensurate with experience. The Partnership offers a monthly health insurance reimbursement, retirement savings plan with quarterly employer contributions, and a competitive paid time off leave program.
