The Community Grants Manager supports and coordinates the growing SBGP Community Grants program, which funds nonprofit and mission-based organizations that are based in, work in, or serve the SBGP District. This position partners with the rest of the Community Grants team to manage the Community Grants portfolio and team to ensure that grant opportunities are well publicized; that applicants are supported in their applications; that applications are reviewed in a fair, professional, and strategic manner; that grants are professionally contracted, administered, and tracked; and that community partners receive high-quality technical assistance through the Keys to Capacity (K2C) program.

Here's a Snapshot of the Position:

  • Drafts and edits guidance documents and information for new grant cycles on a biannual basis.
  • Conducts research and assists with scheduling active outreach meetings with potential applicants.
  • Coordinates grant support sessions: schedules sessions, manages registration, sends emails, and facilitates sessions with the Community Grants team.
  • Reviews all grant applications and provides written feedback.
  • Organizes budgets, handouts, and agenda for in-person review session with committee.
  • Drafts and sends award letters.
  • Drafts and sends grant agreements.
  • Collects and tracks all additional required documents, including insurance, safety plans, etc.
  • Facilitates grantee orientation with the Community Grants team.
  • Monitors progress of current grants, reviews and responds to quarterly reports, and reviews and processes payment requests.
  • Serves as main point of contact for active grants, and supports grantees by providing technical assistance with Submittable, connecting grantees to additional resources to support capacity building, and responding to general questions.
  • Coordinates Keys to Capacity (K2C) virtual events; creates all Zoom and Outlook calendar invites, manages registrations, and sends reminder and follow up emails.
  • Represents SBGP at community meetings across the District to disseminate information and gather useful feedback and information for SBGP.

Is This You?

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in grants management, community relations, or nonprofit management.
  • This position requires frequent public interactions including with stakeholders, partners, business leaders, residents, neighborhood leaders, government leaders, state/local officials, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with research, planning, and evaluation.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and attention to detail, with ability to anticipate, initiate, and advance multiple priorities and projects concurrently.
  • 3+ years of grant or project management experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Google Suite (Calendar, Docs, etc.).
  • Grant Management Software (Submittable).
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Video conferencing to conduct meetings and events via Teams, Zoom, or other video conferencing technology.
  • Able to work occasionally in the evenings or on the weekends to support board and community events and meetings.

Terrific Total Compensation Package:

  • The starting pay for this position is $62,000 to $68,000.00, commensurate with experience.
