PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR (PART-TIME)

Summary of Position:
The Payroll Administrator (non-exempt, 20-25 hours per week) is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of the bi-weekly payroll processing of approximately 80 employees, in an efficient, accurate and confidential manner.  He/she must be well organized, attentive to detail, and able to work well independently, under pressure, and with deadlines.  The Payroll Administrator should have excellent interpersonal skills as he/she will engage in frequent contact with Association and Foundation staff members, vendors and service providers.  This position reports directly to the Director of Human Resources. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Processes bi-weekly payroll accurately using ADP Time & Labor to ensure compliance, accuracy and efficiency
  • Manages Time & Attendance with support staff and supervisors while maintaining precise payroll records
  • Maintains journal entry and general ledger records. 
  • Ensures compliance and adheres to USNA Alumni Association & Foundation policies relating to processing of wages and paid leave
  • Provides service to all employees regarding concerns with payroll, research and trouble shoot any/all inquiries
  • Maintains business controls and audit trails for all payroll transactions, garnishments, etc.
  • Maintains control of company payroll files, with strict confidentiality
  • Provides audit support to the Treasury Department
 
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in accounting or business administration strongly preferred (high school degree required). 
  • 3-4 years of payroll processing, accounts payable, accounting, or other relevant experience required
  • 2 years of ADP WorkForce Now experience and knowledge required
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll practices and labor & compliance guidelines
  • Ability to anticipate important timing needs that may impact the company’s payroll and benefits
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Word); Financial Edge software experience a plus
  • Have up-to-date computer experience and training necessary to fulfill the duties of this position
  • Ability to handle highly-confidential payroll information
  • Must be detail-oriented
